HILLSBORO - Mrs. Alice Emma Harkins, 82, a former resident of Hillsboro died at 4:55 a.m. Thursday in the Clinton County Hospital at Frankfort. Mrs. Hankins had moved to Frankfort eight months ago after living in Hillsboro 12 years. She attended Cooper's Chapel church near Veedersburg and the Rush School. A native of Veedersburg, she was born May 9, 1884, a daughter of George and Olivia Washburn Zimmerman She married Sam Hankins in 1901 in Danville, Ill. Surviving are the husband; a son, Dale of Frankfort; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl, who was Montgomery County Clerk, in February of 1966. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home here with Rev. Morris J. Finch officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. - jlr
